Frying Nemo--Well, Almost.

Chelsea, James, Dad, and I went to Pine Valley early this morning, and as you can see from the view, it was well worth the effort!

Here's Dad's head as he fishes at the shore.

I LOVE this thing! I shouted out when I first discovered this lurking behind a picnic table. I thought it was a human leg for half a second. Freakishly delightful!

This was probably my favorite picture I took. I love the deep green and serene atmostphere.

It was so nice that the waterfall was just a quick walk from the picnic area. Very beautiful and cool--literally.

Here's a couple more trees. Can't recall their names...I'm sure it'll come to me--maybe when we go back to Pine Valley?

As you can see, it was a great day to be fishing and shooting...pictures, that is.

Here's James hanging out by the creek.

Lookin' good, Dad! Glad you didn't fall in...I think?

Can't wait to go back. It was incredibly worth waking up early and dealing with annoying bugs of many sorts!

I like this one a lot too.
So much, in fact,
I'm beginning
to
PINE.

"Dad Is Great!"

What Is A Dad?

A dad is someone who
wants to catch you before you fall
but instead picks you up,
brushes you off,
and lets you try again.

A dad is someone who
wants to keep you from making mistakes
but instead lets you find your own way,
even though his heart breaks in silence
when you get hurt.

A dad is someone who
holds you when you cry,
scolds you when you break the rules,
shines with pride when you succeed,
and has faith in you even when you fail...

Happy Father's day to all dads and, of course, my dad!

Love you more.

Lizards and Birdies, and Trolls--Ohhhh My!

PART 1: My Pad
Here's where I currently live as of now.

This is just a closer-up shot of our place.

We live quite close to the side of a mountain, so we get lots of crazy critters. I'm quite partial to the reptiles. And this may not look like much, but I was pretty happy I managed to "catch" this guy/girl? on film. This type of lizard is actually pretty big compared to your average lizard.

The same day from above, I managed to snag a pic of this little roof dweller. I think it's a sparrow of sorts.

Anyhoo, it's cute and a heck of a lot less annoying the the 'coo, coo, coo-ing' of our Doves-in-Mourning.

PART 2: That Darn Dog!

Now comes Charlie's first mishap since I've been sitting for him and the folk's house.

Shortly after, James was grandly-helpful and threw away most of the sticky debris.

PART 3: Burd (like from 'Bambi')
A mourning dove has taken roost in my parent's overhang in their backyard. It usually takes off in flight whenever someone gets too close, so I was surprised I could get this "close" to it.

Sorry I couldn't get a better angle, but you can still make out the tail and most of the head.

Eye dig this eye.

PART 4: Troll 2 Party

We had a party in honor of the arrival/viewing of one of my cousin's favorite cult-classic horror movies that is said to be one of the worst movies ever made.

All one had to do to be admitted into the exclusive affair was bring/make something green and edible.
Chelsea made a moist and squiggly cake infused with lime Jell-O.

Nathan says, "'Bone' apetit!"

Heather provided homemade, yummy guac.

These creepy masks were drawn by fans of the film, which we (by all means) had to adorn!

Say "Nilbog!"
From left to right: Weston, Chelsea, James, me, Mickey (Heather's bro), and Heather!

Chelsea really became one with the mask.

PART 5: Considering Murder

After all that scolding, all Charlie did was stick his tongue out.
Thanks, little punk.

It may appear that I'm choking said offender, but this is not so! I thought it was sorta funny that he had incriminating evidence on his face, which would be green Jell-O Troll cake
